Government and Legal Information:
Official and Authoritative Sources for Research

This seminar will demonstrate the importance of using government information resources at all jurisdiction levels to improve your research in business and the social sciences.  The presenters will describe the databases available for researching government information with an emphasis on the electronic resources.  The emphasis will be on HathiTrust Digital Library, FdSys (the Federal Digital System), USA.GOV, Google limiting by .gov domain, etc.  This seminar will provide an overview of doing legal research on Texas and federal legislation using the University Library, government sources, and Law Library resources.

• Will know the organization and availability of Texas and federal government information for your research

• Will be able to identify, evaluate, and use appropriate federal and Texas indexes and webpages for your research

• Will be able to identify Texas and federal legal resources and do basic legal searches
