Altmetrics Workshop - Online only - Brian Quinn, Innocent Awasom Online

The presenter has TTU authentication set for access to the zoom workshop. To be able to access it, you will need to have a zoom account set up with your TTU.EDU email address. This assists with identifying those that attended the workshop with the name that was used to register for the event.

1. Students will understand the difference between altmetrics and traditional bibliometrics 2. Students how to use altmetrics to measure their scholarly impact and enhance their academic profile 3. Students will understand the importance of creating an ORCID id and learn how to do it

Traditional bibliometrics is increasingly being called into question. It may not provide a complete picture of the scholarly influence generated by your research. In this workshop, you will learn alternative measures of scholarly influence and how they compare with traditional measures. You will learn the strengths and weaknesses of altmetrics and how they can be applied to your research to enhance your academic reputation. You will also learn the importance of creating a unique identifier so that your work will not be confused with the scholarship of others.
