R for Beginners Session 3: Starting with data Hybrid -Jingjing Wu, Cynthia Henry, Jenni Jacobs In-Person / Online

Hybrid- both face to face and online webbased interaction

- Be able to load external data from a .csv file into R (R data frame) - Be able to summarize and subset a data frame - Be able to format dates

This is an introductory serial of workshops on R for participants with no prior knowledge of R or no programming experience. The entire serial takes around 9 hours in 6 sessions. Each session takes one hour for essential content and another half an hour for questions or problem-solving. This serial covers using RStudio projects for reproducible computation, basic R syntax, importing/exporting CSV data, the structure of data frames, as well as data wrangling and plotting.
