Make 3D-Printed Awards In-Person / Online

Reward your neighbors, workers, and peers with a 3D printed award of your own design! Learn to use TinkerCAD and the Makerspace’s 3D printers to recognize the wonderful people around you. Specifically, this workshop will involve more advanced modeling and design concepts within the CAD program TinkerCAD (other 3D modeling/printing workshops are recommended for 'soft' prerequisites, but are not required). Participants will receive a walkthrough on how to find 3D models online, import, modify and export them. The workshop will proceed with a walkthrough for designing an original award model in TinkerCAD and exporting it for 3D printing. We will address pertinent vocabulary words and how to optimize a balance between TinkerCAD's strengths and weaknesses. Additional topics include Library and external resources, various tips and tricks to optimize TinkerCAD's performance, and best practices in 3D printing. No experience necessary, all ages and skill-levels are welcome!
