Make with Sewing: PJ Shorts (Intermediate) In-Person

This workshop will provide participants with a hands-on introduction to sewing their own pajama shorts! Participants will receive a walkthrough of the process of sewing their own pajama shorts using a pattern. They will cut out their own pattern pieces to fit their size and follow the instructions of the pattern to make a pair of shorts. We will walk through the process of aligning pieces of fabric and sewing them, zigzag stitching raw edges in place of surging, adding a waistband, and hemming. Participants will have the option to customize their shorts by adding pockets, shortening or lengthening the shorts, or choosing an elastic or drawstring waistband. Please note these customizations may increase the time required to complete the project. Additional topics include information about how to understand a sewing pattern, fabric grain, common stitches, hemming, and common mistakes and how to fix them. No experience necessary, basic sewing experience recommended.
