Scholarly Journal Information for Researchers -Hybrid Workshop- Ian Barba - Lab 16 In-Person / Online

Hybrid- both face to face and online web based interaction

Participants will learn about how to use Cabell's Directories, Scopus, and SJR Scimago Journal Rank to find journal metrics, including rankings, citation information, and acceptance rate. They will further learn the importance of selecting reputable, quality publications when selecting journals to submit their work.

With the rise of predatory publishing, new researchers have more incentive than ever to carefully review journal information when deciding where to submit their work for publication. Fortunately, TTU Libraries provides useful tools for researching these important metrics. In this workshop, participants will learn about three such tools, how to navigate their user interfaces, and how to search for specific categories of journals and how to search by specific journal titles in order to find their metrics.
