Generative AI has changed the way we view and consume information from all parts of the web—our databases, the search engines, and social media. This information landscape can be manipulated, as misinformation, including fake news and deep fake videos, proliferate our spaces. Many of us have seen images and videos that we think are real but are not. Come to this session to learn how to evaluate these materials, and deconstruct some examples. We may also discuss "detection" techniques, and how useful AI detection tools really are. This will be a discussion-based workshop. We will have some slides and/or demo a few tools or guides, but we also want to hear from you, the participants, about these topics. Come with your lunch, your questions, and your experiences.
