Data Management Planning for Researchers Workshop - Matthew McEniry and Heidi Winkler In-Person

2-3 Learning Outcomes (based on ACRL Framework Knowledge Practices or Dispositions http://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/ilframework) :

1. Attendees will learn what data management is why it’s important to their research.

2. Attendees will become familiar with the concept and aspects of a data management plan.

3. Attendees will walkthrough a data management plan design for a mock grant proposal.

 

Abstract: This workshop will introduce the concept of data management and data management plans. Attendees will be given an informative lecture about what data management is and why it’s important to their research and then will transition into describing what data management plans are and how to do them. An exercise will be done for a mock grant proposal to identify the parts of a data management plan. Additionally, the workshop will introduce all resources that the TTU Library has for helping faculty, staff, and graduate students with their data management plans.
