Data Management Overview Workshop - Matthew McEniry and Heidi Winkler In-Person

2-3 Learning Outcomes (based on ACRL Framework Knowledge Practices or Dispositions http://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/ilframework) :

1. Attendees will learn what data management is why it’s important.

2. Attendees will learn what metadata is and how it applies to their research.

3. Attendees will become familiar with TTU Library resources and upcoming workshops pertaining to data management.

Abstract : This lecture will introduce the concept of data management to researchers, briefly describe what it is and why it’s important. The presentation will go over the aspects of a data management plan, what metadata is and how it’s used in research, what types of resources the TTU Libraries has for data management, and look at upcoming workshops that will be offered.
