Hispanic Heritage Month Lecture In-Person

You are invited to help us celebrate Hispanic Heritage month and hear Dr. Rossy Evelin Lima, award-winning author and visiting profressor in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at TTU.  Her presentation is entitled

"You belong here: empowerment through our stories/ Perteneces aquí: empoderamiento a través de nuestras historias"

As a Latinx, these stories become enriched with experiences about immigration, language, color and traditions. These stories are our source of empowerment and lift us as a community. Join this workshop and learn how to tell your story, share your story, make it heard.

Lecture will be in the Libraries South Croslin Room, 3:30 - 5:00 pm on October 2, 2019.  Refreshments will be provided.

Rossy Evelin Lima holds a PhD in linguistics and is an international award-winning poet. Her work has been published in numerous journals, magazines and anthologies in Spain, Italy, UK, Canada, United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia and Argentina. She is the president and founder of the Latin American Foundation for the Arts, the founder of the International Latin American Poetry Festival (FeIPoL), as well as the founder of Jade Publishing. In 2015 and was invited to speak at TEDxMcallen to talk about her experience as an immigrant writer in the U.S.
