Start Your Own Open Access Journal Workshop - Heidi Winkler In-Person

Library Lab 150

Learning Outcomes:

1. Get introduced to Open Journal Systems

2. Learn what it takes to run your own open access journal.

3. Learn how TTU Libraries can support you.

Abstract:

Congratulations! You want to start an open access academic journal. Or maybe you already run a print-only journal and want to move it online. That’s fantastic! The TTU Libraries provides editorial, technical, and publisher support for the publication and dissemination of scholarship from the Texas Tech community. Whether your journal is faculty-led, student-led, or associated with an institute or organization on campus, we’re here to help you. We’ll talk in this workshop about what it means to be an open access journal and whether a journal is the right outlet for the work you want to publish. We’ll also make sure you know the ins and outs of running a journal. Future journal editors and managers, assemble!

If you will be unable to attend the workshop, please contact the instructor, Heidi Winkler, to set up a one-on-one consultation.
