Simmons Insights for Beginners Workshop - Online only - Ian Barba In-Person
This workshop will be offered through the Zoom/MediaSite platform. You must register to receive email with the link to participate. Registration will close 48 hours prior to allow for sending out emails. You may contact ian.barba@ttu.edu to be added after registration stops.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Locate Simmons Insights tool from library website
2. Navigate the Simmons interface
3. Build queries and crosstabs about demographics and brands/products using Simmons
Abstract:
Simmons is an atypical database resource, it can be used to find information opinions and use of American products and brands. This workshop would cover the basics of the tool, including: - Basic explanation of consumer data coverage - The comparisons possible between different sets of consumer data - Navigation of menus and features - Expanding/narrowing focus of queries - How to read and analyze results - How to save, export, and import queries and results in Simmons
