3. A brief walkthrough of the Texas Tech University Dataverse will be done to explain where it is located, why it’s useful, how to use it, and what all the features are.

Abstract:

This workshop will introduce participants to Data Management principles, walk through what a Data Management Plan is and why federal granting agencies require them, and show participants how to use the Dataverse client. Data Management is a key component of responsible research because keeping your data secure, preserved, and organized helps you during your projects. Federal granting agencies require that researchers make available their data after their award periods, this workshop will tell you why, what that looks like, and what tools you can use to help you. Additionally, your data needs to be accessible after the award period. Dataverse is a great option for this, and the workshop will demonstrate the features of this repository which include uploading your data, collaborating on it with other researchers, and getting a DOI (permanent link) all while keeping control of your data.
