Virtual- entirely webbased live interaction, no face to face The presenter has TTU authentication set for access to the zoom workshop. To be able to access it, you will need to have a zoom account set up with your TTU.EDU email address. This assists with identifying those that attended the workshop with the name that was used to register for the event. 1. Understand the difference between altmetrics and traditional bibliometrics 2. Know the strengths and weaknesses of using altmetrics to measure the impact of your research 3. Understand the importance of using an ORCID id to identify your research and know how to create one Traditional bibliometrics is increasingly being called into question. It may not provide a complete picture of the scholarly influence generated by your research. In this workshop, you will learn alternative measures of scholarly influence and how they compare with traditional measures. You will learn the strengths and weaknesses of altmetrics and how they can be applied to your research to enhance your academic reputation. You will also learn the importance of creating a unique identifier so that your work will not be confused with the scholarship of others.
