Locating and Utilizing Historical Newspapers Workshops- Amy Dye-Reeves - Recorded and Released In-Person

1) Each participant will apply knowledge of historical newspaper databases to retrieve the desired information to meet the goals of historical research papers. 2) Each participant will utilize the techniques, skills, and modern tools necessary for practicing information retrieval. 3) Each participant will synthesize knowledge and use insight and creativity to locate historical newspapers.

The workshop, entitled "Locating and Utilizing Historical Newspapers," will provide information on discovering and using historical newspapers within Texas Tech University Libraries and freely available worldly repositories. In addition, the participant will explore the following historical newspaper databases, including 17th and 18th Century Burney Collection, 19th Century US and UK papers, etc. The session's goal is to provide best practices for implementation within the historical research process.
